KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 14.09 g, 7 h), Amphipolis, circa 356-355. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Philip II on horseback to left, wearing kausia and raising his right hand in salute; below, thunderbolt; in exergue, ΔH. Le Rider - (D5/R13). Nicely toned, well struck on a broad flan and of fine early style. Slightly rough, otherwise, good very fine.

This is one of the earliest coins of Philip II from Amphipolis, struck shortly after the Macedonian conquest of the city in 357/6 BC.
